That is a question that comes up from time to time. The reason that we are sticking with Stainless Steel has to do with the fact that in many cases, these 90%+ boilers may be installed in a system that does not have low enough temperatures to provide for a condensing situation. A 90%+ boiler installed in a system with copper fin baseboard that has been sized to operate with 180°F water will generally have a return water temperature of 160°F at best. If this were the case the flue temperatures would be well above the 200°F limitation for safe operation with PVC venting material. We can't control where or how these boilers are going to be applied but we can control the tolerance of the venting material if and when they are misapplied. That's why we stuck with AL29-4C stainless vent.

    Glenn, I was wondering why your 90%+ eff boilers still must be vented with Stainless steel ?.
