Goofy Insulation Question

Could Insultarp be used on top of an attic floor in an old house? Either alone or perhaps as a carpet pad?
Someone at another forum is looking for ideas that don't involve either removing parts to blow in insulation or adding a insulated false floor on top.

This is a little...
...bit outside my normal area, but might it act as a vapor barrier? Might that cause condensation (read trouble)? Just a thought.

Vapor barrier
Vapor barrier (or tarp, in this case) should against the warm side of the floor/ceiling.0 -
Depends...
Mike, where's the house?
We shouldn't automatically assume that it is a "northern" house. If they A/C more than heat then the vapour barrier should be on the outside.0 -
Not sure where it's located. Will try to find out. Just an odd idea I had.0
