If the MegaSteam utilizes the Hyrdolevel smart cycle feature? As I understand the Hydrolevel control, it performs a still water test every ‘x’ minutes by interrupting the firing for 60 or 90 seconds to determine the true water level. As I understand the smart cycle feature, the control resets the timer on each new call for heat so a full ‘x’ minutes elapses before the still water test.

For example: Assuming ‘x’ minutes is 10 minutes. If the boiler had been firing for 8 minutes and the call for heat was satisfied, on the next call for heat would the boiler fire for a full 10 minutes or would it fire for 2 minutes and perform the still water test?

    Cycleguard control that we use on our boilers will start the 10 minute burner cycle every time there is a call for heat. The original controls a couple of years ago always had the timer active so depending where you happened be in that cycle when the call for heat was encountered you would end up with anything from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. We had this fixed as a cooperative effort by us incorporating a SPST isolation relay on the boiler and by them configuring the control with an extra terminal to apply power to on a call for heat thus activating the timer for a full 10 minute run cycle every time.
