a W-Mclain SGO, 3 section.
Runs ok... except sometimes on a long run it will "rattle" says it will wake him sometimes... as soon as the boiler stops firing w/ in 10 seconds the noise stops. It has been flushed plenty by me and the Ho so sediment should not be an issue.
any thoughts?

Just a guess Kev,
seems like nothing wrong hydronically, just a strange sound (intermittently) auto mechanics see daily too.
Perhaps you`ll have to try sleeping overnight there?

rattle
I have installed many of these and had the same problem with two or three. If the boiler has a tankless coil, it is moving up and down hitting the cast iron. Pull the coil and spread apart the upper and lower sections so the don't hit. Then reinstall it, the noise should be gone.0 -
