Pumping Fuel Oil

Check with the sources of waste fryer oil. Many years ago, I aquired a gear pump that was set up to empty deep fat fryers. Maybe a resturant supply house might be able to steer you in the right direction. If the WVO is the same viscosity of fuel oil, then your local truck supply house should be able to sell you a pump for diesel fuel.

  • Pumping Fuel Oil and Vegetable Oil

Does anyone know which pump I should use to pump fuel and waste vegetable oil? And what type of hose should I use? I would like to use a clear hose to see what I am pumping, maybe that clear condensate drain hose? On a related note I am going to make a heat exchanger, out of baseboard element, to heat up the waste vegtable oil to encourage the sediment to sink to the bottom of the tank. Will the waste oil cause any corrosion to copper or aluminum fins?

    Thanks, Bob Gagnon
