The copper pipes goes into a hallway, then up to the illegal (oops, undocumented) apartment in the attic. I guess this was cut in when the owner wanted to get some extra $$$ by renting out the attic (circa 1920's 2-family box-shaped home in older sections of northern N).

The copper pipe in the hallway is also un-insulated.

I know that the hallway pipe should be insulated, but what about this little section?

Regards,
Tony
