If it is not broken, don't fix it.

The baseboard heating in my livingroom goes through a wall and then starts up again. I just happen to notice that who ever installed the baseboard went from a 3/4 in copper pipe to a 1/2 in pipe to go through the wall then back to the 3/4in. I never noticed this before.
What problems could this cause? Should I bother to remove the 1/2 in pipe and go 3/4 all the way through?
