What is the conversion factor from BTU/hr to kilowat hours.

i.e. a 100,000 BTU/hr boiler is producing as much heat as an electric furnace element of how many kilowat hours?

100,000 BTU is approximately 29.3 kwh

And the answer is...

One kilowatt is equivalent to 3,412 BTUs/hr. Therefore, an 80% efficient, a 100,000 BTU boiler would emit 80,000 BTUs to the load. Dividing by 3,412, this would be equivalent to a 23.45 KW electric source.
