Steam - constant temp or not?

I have a one-pipe steam system. Is it better to keep the theromostat at a constant temp thru out the winter or knock it down at night? Which is better in terms of efficiency?

you can set back if
your system recovers fast..some systems have recessed radiators with terrible grillwork that stifles convection..if you can reheat the house relatively quickly, then do set back..it would save money..

I agree with Gerry
that if your recovery is rapid, why not set it back? A boiler that is off burns no fuel (he said obviously).
I will take exception to Gerry's comments on radiator covers. Some do stifle, some enhance, some are a net equal. It depends. Properly done, convection can be enhanced.
Personally, I like the radiant effect, the first casualty when covers are installed.0
