MOTORIZED DAMPER

any imput on utilizing a motorized damper for make up copmbustion air for boiler room. gas fired burnham boiler in 12 & three 50 gal water heaters total equipment . all standing pilots owner complaining fresh air vent makes boiler room too cold & is causing drafts through uninsulated floors. bet Brad White has a answer !!

why not?
I have seen them often.Sometimes with end switch to keep the burners off until damper is open. You may need a smaller opening that is not dampered for the pilots. And with three water heaters plus a boiler it would probably open for alot of the time anyways(something always firng). And if all else fails, insulate the floors !-)0 -
combustion air issue
Thanks for the input ,bro. my thoughts pretty much the same.i would insulate the floors & put in a 12" x 12 "duct vent w/ fusible link damper and return bend outside case closed . was hoping the experts would have some more options for me but no looka too good !!0 -
Against residential code?
In commerical buildings interlocked motorized dampers are not to code in some municipalities (in Colorado). {Edit: They must be fixed open louvers.} Not sure about residential.

Inter Lock.
It HAS to be inter locked with all Fuel consumption equipment. Car dealerships for example. We see them all the time.
