If you're designing for a 10 degree delta T (pretty common for rdiant) you're going to need to move 12 GPM from your 5 ton HP. 12 GPM would need 1-1/4" copper to avoid being noisey. After you take the first manifold or two off (depends on the BTU's/ GPM's required in those loops) you can drop down your pipe size.

    right size copper pipe

    I have installed a nordic.ghp 5 ton dx heat pump, which is set up for radiant heat. We have a nu-air enerboss which has a hrv, hot water coil, cold water coil, and a seprate fan for wet room. I have 5 mainifold with a total of 19-loops of 1/2 pex. The heat pump has 1" copper coming out of it, the manifolds are designed to accept 1" copper.
    I have been told to run 1", 1 1/4", and 1 1/2" copper from the heat pump to the manifolds the system is zoned with zone values. Any advice wether a e-mail or phone call 315-328-4133 would be wonder full. Thank you David E. Black
