POP up

as the rough equivalent of my ABC-Sunray FC Bantam. I can still get this unit up to 13% CO2 with zero smoke (though I don't leave it like that) and with valve-on-delay added, it lights off and shuts down smoothly every time.

Just like the burner, Windows 98 SE does what I need it to do, it's pretty reliable and I keep it updated. And the WordPerfect Suite version 12 as well as the latest version of Netscape will still run on this OS, sharing file formats with those who follow Bill Gates' mantra of "Microsoft Everything".

So why replace it?

Robert, your buddy's system is probably infected with spyware. Have him try using some anti-spyware programs as listed above and also he should see that his anti-virus is up-to-date.

    Rudeness & \"On hold\" and \"POP ups\" & \"Telemarketing\"

Venting here! I purchased my phone and computer for my use! Not some marketing gimmick for others to use. Man I hate it when I am "Used" this way. I know It is supposed to pay for the free internet use and such but I have replied to the two pipe reverse return thing many times just to have my pop-up deleter delete the whole thing, as I was writing it. Not to mention other inconvientcies we all suffer when we "Purchased" this equipment. I guess the day will come when the auto windsheild will display a pop-up add and we can do away with billboards! That'd be fun at eighty MPH! especilly on the way to Reno or Las Vegas. Since there is so much to look at upon those trips!. Sorry about the scarchasm!

    Or

dump Internet Explorer and use Netscape or Mozilla Firefox. I'm running Netscape 7.1 on Windows 98 Second Edition and I never get popups, FACT!

You might also try SpyBot Search & Destroy and a-squared, two FREE anti-spyware programs I have had good results with.

I know you're into classics, but Windows 98.

Geez Frank, that's not even the steam of computing that's the fireplace. :-)

Although, I guess you could have said 3.1.1 and that was bulletproof, FACT!

    Pop Up

I got windows 98 and don't really get any pop up's either. I use the cable companies sevice (high speed DSL) pretty darn fast and knock on wood (or my head) have never experienced a major problem or significant delay. My friend has a new top-o-d-line computor with all kinds of stuff connected to the phone companies high speed service and he is getting ALOT-O-CRAP POP UP's and frankley his sevice seems slow.

    Thumbs down

To Internet Explorer. Mozilla ROCKS! I have Windows XP on my
'puter and the amount of pop-ups I was getting made it almost worthless. Sometimes when going back and forth between post on the Wall I would have to clear 4-5 out of the way before I could see the next thread. Tried all the spy/popup killers I could find and none of them took care of it even 50%. I now use Mozilla Firefox as my browser and it works great. I recommend it highly!!
