What's the proper point to measure the height of a radiator to determine it's btu output... is it from the top to the floor or to the bottom of the main body?
Thanks

Bottom of foot to top of radiator.
Some rads were available with extra-tall legs (the standard is about 2 1/2").
Standard and tall leg rads have the same output, but you tables all assume the standard so just find the rating just below the height you measure for the tall legs.
The two standard radiator tables (for column-type and tube-type) are fine for most common radiators. "Flue-type" radiators have different ratings, but all are similar. "Slenderized" rads that appeared after WW-II are also different, but the ratings were still similar among brands.0
