A local Mom and Pop hardware store which stocks boiler supplies and parts you would never find at Home Depot has recommended a boiler cleaning product they sell called "Crystal Clear" made by Sid Harvey. It is a liquid which comes in a quart bottle and apparently changes color during the boiler cleaning process. Any stories of success or fsilure with this product or an opinion?

Works Well
I have used it in steam boilers and it does keep the water clear all season. I don't know what happens to the mung that usually gets blown down weekly, but it doesn't seem to form.
I don't know if this helps or not, as I regularly blow down this gack, so I chose not to spend any more money on it.0 -
We use it too
on new installs . We'll pour a bottle in and let 'er steam up while purging the returns . Seems like it's on the milder side of cleaners , and works pretty good .0
