    ttekushan. 100 year old technology and systems that BTW HAVE withstood the test of time literaly; would certainly benefit from new controls and new boiler/burner package combustion efficiencies. Would small residential applications be better candidates for Radiant floor/panel?? MOST probably..(without conceding :-) ). BUT would most mid-size residential and up (plus obviously bigger commercial) applications benefit from a steam or HYBRID steam/radiant system employing modern design??? MOST certainly. Speaking of the "test of time" I would like to see a 100 year old "plastic tube" radiant system side by side with a 100 year old steam system..

    Sorry, I am seriously not demeaning Radiant in the slightest. I do have the utmost respect of the design and efficiencies inherrant in Radiant floor/panel systems. MY point is that I believe a HYBRID version would far outshine either individually providing the benefits of both.

    ttekushan, any time you are ready I would collaborate on a design. I see no reason why we could not launch a cooperative design team from the wall under the same GPL licensing practices used in the public domain software.
