Booster tank piping

Just got back from a job and need some information. Customer has a booster tank, I cannot read the label, it is a brown tank, what brand uses a brown tank? I want to look online for the piping diagram. I am installing a new boiler with the existing booster tank and the piping on the booster tank looks strange, maybe someone wanted to bypass the booster tank? Anyways, I added a backflow preventer to the supply for the boiler. When do I need to consider an expansion tank for the booster tank?
