    Covector sizes

    Anyone know if there is a rule of thumb or place to find the btu sizes of old convectors we are running into. for example I have sizes of 6" deep x 42 w x 22 h cabinet,
    6" deep x 34 w x 22 h cabinet, 6" deep x 30 w x 22 h cabinet.

    All of the fins are 6" wide copper.

    available from the Online Store has several selections. Even if you have one project in mind, the book is and will be a handy reference for many years.

    There is no real rule of thumb for convectors though. General principles are that the taller the enclosure the higher the output, in addition to the length and depth of the element and water temperature of course.

    Myson catalog

    You can look in the Myson catalog for a similar convector to get a good idea. You need to know the thicknes of element, depth and length. Cabinet is a standard size in their book so you should be able to come up with a close match. Also make note if it is a double row element or not. Good luck, Tim
