for radiant work. Uponor 3/8 is my choice for under floor plate jobs in tight spaces.
Panel rads on home run systems are another place to consider 3/8.
Truth be known I have never owned a Wirsbo expander. I've used crimp rings on that tube for 15 years or more :)

Crimping HePEX
Can it/should it be done? We have two crimp manifolds that didn't get used in a housing job we completed. The Boss man said we're going to use them on a job we're doing for radiant heating. I know you have to expand Aquapex (although I fixed a leak on a house that had all Aquapex fittings crimped!!) so I just figured I'd ask.
Also, I bought a set of three crimpers a while back on Ebay, and they came with a 3/8 crimper, will I ever use this?
Thanks alot!!
PS, I got my manometer in, it's rockin!! I'm waiting on an IR Thermometer and apparently I'm going for Viessman training soon!!0 -
The 3/8 crimper is for supplies to a sink or toilet, etc...domestic. As for crimping Hepex or pex al pex, I have had no problems. The expander is wirsbo. The crimp is good for domestic pressures, and many manifolds have barb fittings for crimp type connections...
