Any of the \"fixed\" systems
(such as the Viega Climate Panel which I have) is limited in spacing hence is dependent on fluid temperature for output.
Point being, (and forgive the basic stuff here) you assumably know your heat loss and required floor output hence what your floor temperature needs to be.
Your finished floor system has literature dictating maximum temperatures I will assume.
That in turn will dictate your actual water temperature and output... circular logic, sure. You just have to know if it will meet your heat loss.
This is true of any of the fixed-spacing systems. If you need a cooler temperature to meet output you may have to cobble your own with sleepers and the spacing you desire. That is already on the table of course; just trying to help you assess which way to go.

true you of course need to do a heat loss. but as far as panel outputs the Raupanel will give you the greatest output at the lowest temp possible over any other system including anything you could build on your own.0 -
Even better than Warmboard?
Not disputing your claim, just surprised that Raupanel allegedly surpasses Warmboard which I thought Hot Rod had identified as the fastest-responding, lowest-water temp sub-floor tubing system out there...0 -
They are rougly comparable, though I too would give warmboard the edge, if the subfloor is already in I would go with raupanel as the installation would be a lot easier.0 -
Good Points
I agree that Warmboard would be the way to go IF there were no subfloor already. Rehau Raupanel would be the best choice for a top of the floor system with subflooring already in place.
The Raupanel tubing has a larger ID than most (if not all) of the other top of the floor systems and it offers both 6" and 8" spacing options.
