Staple up Job - tight to subfloor or leave gap?

Thanks for any help in advance.
For staple up jobs under 3/4" fir plywood and finished floor of engineered hardwood and ceramic tile should the 1/2" Pex be
attached tight to the subfloor or leave a gap?
If it is tight will there be noticable noise during expansion and contraction?
If you gap the tubing, how much? Enough to allow nailing of the hardwood?
Thanks
