& yep, even signed 'em as an oil account. That's what I like, go the extra yard on the job, and sometimes it's a game winner. Starting another Diocese job soon, keep y'all posted on that also.

A post from the past concerning a church/rectory/school dual-boiler split-up:
We were forced to split up the boilers and have a single boiler for the school & single for the church/rectory. I arranged the piping so that if one went down in the winter, within eight hours a swing over would be done. [ Valving was prohibitive ] We fired up the proposed school boiler, checked for leaks and guess what? My [educated ] guess was right! I reasoned that since the school was built in the 60's and the church is turn-of-the-century the newer school piping was 6" welded, while the older was the 6" screwed. Therefore the line to separate was the welded school line. I was Right. The school return was pumped to a new 100 gal. BFT we installed in the church basement and that pumped into the boiler. I installed an oil meter on the oil line to the dual-solunoild valves also. We found 16 t'stats in the school controlling Z.V.s w/o end switches. The boilers were maintaining 1.5 to 4.5 psig controlled by a Heat Timer. We 'll be installing a Fuel Watchman, lock boxes on the T'Stats and checking the operation of the Z.V.s. Oh! I almost forgot ....cranking down the pressuretrols.0 -
Now's the time
to stop saying "but what do I know, I'm just a plumber". You'll be a hero to them when the oil consumption drops sharply.
