how about those two returns coming into the one main vent? Are they both dry returns or is one a steam pipe?

gas bill

I get a call to evaluate a system for a new customer. The gas bills are killing me. I wonder why ? The steam boiler piping is sad. The pressuretrol is set at #2 and it is a 2 pipe vapor system. I hope to post afer pics.

high bills

I had one last year where the house wouldn't heat and the bills were outragious. Even with the thermal trap covers off, no heat. Someone installed a water boiler for a steamer, had 1 1/2" riser, two pipe with check valves on the returns, no where near enough B dimension and an underfired conversion gas burner.....go figure !!
