Do it right = do it once. Sometimes a person loses sight of the purpose of your work when you try to accommodate all the wishes of your customer.

Flow check question
Looked at a job the other day, older install, probably 30-35 years. A mix of B&G100's and B&G 2", one for each zone. The building super stated that that they were never able to control the heat in each of the 6 zones correctly. It was pretty obvious what the issue was after laying my eyes on it. Rates right up there with ME's thermostat location. The B&G gravity checks were installed sideways instead of vertically. The poor things had been like that since birth. My question is should I even consider reusing them. I'm thinking they are pretty likely to cause future problems even if cleaned up. I wouldn't even consider it but the building is a church and their budget is slim for the re-do.0 -
replace
go brand new & do it once. if you re-position & they stick you look like a chump. not worth the trouble even if you gotta eat the price of the check valve. keep in mind the big Guy is watching you.0
