Took out the crawford today, i saved all the parts that were on it,the plates were bolted on, i kept as much as i could but the belly had to go ;-(
i had taken after photos but forgot i had the camera set for video, David

Is it bolted together like the typical snowmen we see ? Whaddya gonna do with the front plate ?

Gonna clean it up and repaint it, i have the doors to and the old steam gauge, trinkets for the office someday, i'll have to go back and get some after photos....David

I thought I was the only one

Who collected things like old guages, furnace / boiler nameplates, etc. Dan H. seemed to be impressed when I showed him a few of them at a seminar last year. especially the Iron Fireman plate.

Crawford

Try "stove Black" on a section. I'm not really sure what it is, some sort of paste I think.

A friend of mine has an old parlor stove he picked up at auction. Very rusty, not much to look at. He used this stove black on it and it was really impressive! It gave the iron a luster and brought out all the scrolling.

Turned out nice.
