Replacing takless coil with indirect water heater

I plan to replace my tankless coil with an indirect water heater. I will connect the water heater as a seperate zone on the heating side of the boiler and not use the tankless coil (to prevent having to add a second expansion tank).

What do I do with the tankless coil after the conversion is complete? Is it acceptable to simply drain and block the existing coil inlet and outlet or do I need to do something special?

    You can abandon it in place or remove it and purchase a blank plate and new gasket if available for your heater. If you abandon it, cap off the lines in case develops a leak.

    Actually

    just leave them open, if you plug them with water inside when it turns to steam and expands 1700 times the tankless will be useless and hopefully not split at the plugs at the same time other wise you will be replacing the plate. Open it will dry out after a good firing and all will be fine, if it does leak later then cap it off
