CSST gas piping

What are the rules for CSST piping with respect to installation. I am concerned about an installation to a attic-located scorched air furnace. See attached photo which shows a greater than 90 degree bend, with a tight radius. Any comments?

looks OK
Can't tell which brand it is, maybe TracPipe? Try Tracpipe.com to get the installation instructions thats what we use. 1/2" pipe they recomend not less than 3" bend radius on a 90, absolute minimum is 3/4" I think.

yeah that is trac piping. you should be more concerned about getting a hanger on it somewhere. It should allow for expansion. So no tight metal hangers on the CSST.Cost is what you spend , value is what you get.

like us to terminate that fle to ridgid connection with a termination plate screwed to the joist, and then go ridgid into the appliance.0 -
Certification
You really should get certified before you work on any individual CSST piping system. You assume a lot of liability otherwise as jointing methods vary from make to make.
If you just are questioning an install you may find info on the manufactuers website(s) This install is not the neatest nor hung properly!

Rather than such a tight kink, a 90 should have been installed on the blk pipe...then come out straight with the trac pipe. My manuel I got when I was certified is in the truck, but that looks like a slap in job. Needs support. I would sniff the joints with a good leak detector. Easy to screw up if done improperly.

Thats the problem with the stuff
Its too easy to be sloppy.
Standard piping practice should be used no matter what the material. Hangers should have been used and a 90 installed at the connection to allow for a neat and clean install.
Will it work ... YA .... Would it pass my eye .... not a chance.

Speaking of sloppy...
My guess is the installer owns stock in the blue pipe dope company, or maybe he was trying to finish up a can so he could break out a new one.

Where is the dirt leg? Is it just out of the picture or did they think they did not need one?0 -
The dirt leg is out of the photo - the CSST connects to black iron pipe that travels several more feed to the furnace.
