Joe I just put in a PC 705 in my own house and I used 3/4" injection loop.
I have about 60,000 BTUs loss and roughly 40 deg. with a significant amount of over kill on my cast iron base.
The highest I have seen on the injection side is 119 deg so far.
All of the calculations are in the 705 instructions.

Pc-700
Do you have to follow the piping schematic for the PC-700 exactly. Especially the reduced size of the mixing piping. I though as long as the return side had enough drop you would be OK.

Sorry I was actually wanting to know about the PC-705 The instructions say that you have to decrease your pipe size by one in the mixing loop. But I thought that as long as you had the 1 foot drop you could keep the same size of piping.

or the system ?
ok. the injection piping is a fraction of the system side... your having the injection pump continiously ramping along up and down to inject just the right amount of Heat into that system circuit. that System circuit, all it knows is that it is on the go and it is being supplied by its needs...the circ pump for the system is spinning the water around and around in a loop ,like a gear or wheel. the injection loop is somewhat like a pinion gear...it is Pinner in comparison to the size of the Wheel or Gear that it turns..

having a large pipe the same size as the system i do not see the mechanical advantage ... why have an injection pump piped at the system loop of the same size? the mechanical advantage in gears would say the only benifit of two equally sized gears is a change of direction.
you are looping the water around and around and around... the cooler water returns into the boiler loop or whatever it regards as the source,and injects heat into the House Field or System side, at only just enough to meet the demand of the system ...and,.. at a lower temp in the system you get some mechanical advantage by widening the disparity between your fun tickets and the oil companies.
it would be doing your self a favor to down size the injection system size by 2-3 pipe sizes most likely...0 -
