the <a href="http://www.heatinghelp.com/pdfs/281.pdf"target="_blank">B&G Handbook</a> in the Libaray (It pays to wander off the Wall), but I'm not sure you can do this with a loop that long.
Retired and loving it.

pipe sizing
what is the proper pipe size for a monoflow system that has a 85' loop. the boiler is 75,000 btu input. there is 65 feet a baseboard element. thanks.0 -
is this a test?
i hate Tests...
if you are talking about convector type baseboard heat
or iron baseboard Dan Has a great place on the site so you can take what you have and match it with what you need..i have something that i could send you that might be real interesting it simplifies things for you the installer...
this is a great place ... this is in Dans library...0 -
Is splitting the loop an option?
For a loop half as long and with a similar load, 1-1/4" would be my choice, but I agree with Dan, that 85 feet may be a tad long.
The other factor is, how many radiator feed sets? If you have only five large ones that is one thing. 65 one-footers makes for a challenge :P
Also, 65 LF of baseboard versus that 75 MBH boiler, I suspect some form of decoupling and reset would be of benefit.

Purpose
Not saying you shouldn't do this but why are you doing it. Typically monoflow systems were used to allow individual control of radiators using thermostatic valves. Is this 65ft 1 big room??0
