Never heard of them but would love to see and hear them. I loved Pink Floyd back in the 70's. I even have one of their early albums, "Umma Gumma" that features song hits like, "Careful of that Axe Eugene," and "Several Spiecies if Small Furry Animals Sitting in a Cave Grooving witha Pict." The title of the song may be long but the song is even longer. It took up a whole side of one of the albums. Have a good time. "Wish You Were Here." WW

Any of you heard of these guys ??

I've seent he on public telivision and they are awesome.

They have hired some of Pink Flyods old road crew, have bought some of the old stage shows and lights fom P.F.

They actually played at David Gilmores 50 birthday party.

I never got a chance to see the real Pink Flyod so this should be quite a show.

" Oh by the way ? Which ones Pink ? "

I heard they put on a good show, but don't play anything earlier than Dark Side. Anything from Animals should be a treat, though... How they are able to use the name without harrassment is beyond me - given it was such an issue between Waters and Gilmore when they split up?
Syd Barrett passed away recently - the original members should get together for something in his memory, while they still got it!

    WOW

I thought The Wall would have alrge Pink Flyod following.

If any of you are fans and you get to see these guys don't hesitate. The show was unbelievable. These guys sounded like someone was playing the record, and no that was'nt happening :).

The two lead guitarist sound just like David Gilmore and THAT any easy.

The light show was half the show and the backgirls are spot on !! Played alot of The Wall, Darkside of the Moon and some newer stuff.

    I heard

    that they were VERY good.

I missed my chance TWICE to see PF. First time was on The Wall tour. My parents would not let me go to LI to see them.

Second time was when they played the Carrier dome. I just couldn't make it.

    I LOVE PF!!!

    I saw Pink Floyd

do The Dark side of the Moon concert a long time ago. They took an intermission and then did the Metal Album straight through. When they performed "Echoes" There was fog machines going and blues spotlights on them. They looked like creatures from the moon. Along with the mood music it was a way cool effect. You gotta love PF. WW

    Aussie Floyd

Saw them last yr. Awesome! Do a really good job not only with the music but visuals. I thought it was a great touch to mix in some kangaroo graphics in lieu of the normal Floyd images. Giant inflatable Roo instead of pigs on One of These Days.

I have video from Nebworth 1990 where they closed the festival by playing in the rain at night. Could have been electrocuted. Gilmour blew away Clapton, who I love, too. Have Delicate Sound of Thunder and Pulse concert videos as well as the whole record collection. Gilmour is the most underrated musician of our time and he wanted it that way. While guys like Clapton and Page were known on sight, he was and is an enigma. Man could play a brick and make it sound great. His music is not that hard for good guitarist to follow note for note but as his guitar tech said, nobody can make those same notes sound the way he does.

Roger Waters is an arrogant jerk as well as a musical genius like Dave. Two giants clashing just didn't work and never will again. As soon as Live 8 was over, the attitude was back with Roger. Best to leave the positive memory.

Syd had diabetes and died alone as he lived for 35 yrs.

Claire Torre, who sang that incredible solo on Great Gig in the Sky is suing for 1 million pounds sterling. Though paid a day's wage for one day as a backup singer, she claims she wrote that music and is due royalties. They turned her loose with the mike and hit it in one take. There were no other takes on that track. Amazing. She actually sang backup at Nebworth.

**** Parry is still a drunken bum who never amounted to anything even though he toured with the band in '95 and is one of the greatest sax players ever.

Tim Renwick was Clapton's sideman before playing with Dave.

Guy Pratt grew up learning bass on Floyd tunes, married Rick Wright's daughter and got the gig to replace Roger.

Dave was awarded a Commander of the British Empire (CBE), which is one step below knighthood but grants him the title of Sir. He donated all his procedes from Live 8 back to the food banks. His best friend and next door neighbor is Paul McCartney.

    Dave also plays saxaphone.

Dave owns Fender Stratocaster serial #001 and plays it on occasion such as Fender's 50th anniversary party.

    PBS

PBS has had great coverage of the real Floyd and the Aussie version recently. If you pledged enough cash you got tickets to see the Aussie Floyd, in N.H. Both bands were excellent, but I was really very inpressed with the real Pink Floyd concert I watched it three times.

PBS had the Grateful Dead on the other night, while I am not big a fan it was pretty good, they have had Bruce Springsteen on, Roy Orbison. I think it is one of the better tv programming options.

PBS does have a pretty good deal for "gifts" you receive when you pledge.

Scott it is a small world on the North Shore, I have been known to stop in at Frenchies shop for a quick one or two.
I got to know Bill from seeing him around Essex.
He always has something interesting going on, and a real gentleman.
