Have you piped it per recommendation from the manufacturer? Then again, was it wired to their spec's? They generally require a dump zone in case the boiler get's too hot and the zone's stop calling... As to the venting, it would not be accepted in my area to have wood and gas vented into the same chimney unless you have seperate lined flu's...

wood fired boiler
I have a wood fired boiler I connected to my gas fired boiler in a loop arrangement with an aquastat and a circulator pump that cycles water from boiler to boiler. Do I need any thing special. I only have one chimney. Should I direct vent the gas boiler and gas water heater. Is there somebody with expertise in this area that I can talk to. I would pay for it. Thanks. Joe0 -

piping matters a lot
generally you don't want to loop them together. A primary secondary piping may be better to keep the heat from the gas fired boiler circulating thru the wood fired one when it is not running.
If you series loop them some, maybe a lot, of the gas fired output, when it runs, will disapper up the flue pipe with your energy dollars attached!
An overheat and maybe a combo buffer tank another nice option depending how often you are around to feed the wood fire.
Some nice piping schematics are at www.newhorizoncorp.com
I'm not sure any code allows a solid fuel boiler to be tied into a gas fired boiler flue. Solid fuel requires an "all fuel" or class A vent material. Check with someone familiar with proper venting practices or get a copy of an NFPA codebook.
