Installing tekmar 510

I am interested in the 510 thermostat and have some install questions.

My current programmable is 2 wires. Do I need 4 wires or can the tekmar work with 2? The boiler / pump control is integrated in my boiler. Where to the 24V contacts tap on a W-M transformer - there are many taps?

How does this compare to the honeywell overall - programming and system control?

Thanks, I know this is the busy season but appreciate any help.

    atleast 3

    you'd need at least a 3 wire.
4 Wire if the heat relay is to be dry contact.

it needs constant power (C&R), thats 2.
and you can jump C to one side of heat relay and run the other side of heat relay back to trigger device (min. 3 wire total)

    gl.

    tekmar vs visionpro

I do have 3 wires on my stats.

As I see the difference, tekmar has the ability to use an "auto" setting for cycles per hour. The Honeywell requires a setting. Which is preferable?

The tekmar is PI control. Is the HW PI or PID? Does tekmar lose its settings when power goes out?

What do I give up with different versions of the vision - pro vs retail.

    Thanks
