Electric Radiant

many of you guys are installing electrical radiant mats, for floor warming in bathrooms or kitchens?
And if so what brand are you using? Do you install the mat ,leave it for the tile guy or electrician to install.
Since I do plumbing also, I come across many remodel scenarios where mats will work out well. And as much as I would like to install a brand new mod/con boiler with all the bells and whistles ,it's not going to happen. But maybe I can talk them into a little floor warming. The electrician is not to keen on the upsell, but will supply juice,carpenter/tileman not into it either, but I work with these guys often so,it may be an oppurtunity for me.

    low voltage electric radiant

I installed the STEP warmfloor low voltage electric radiant mats in my bathroom and shower last year. Easy install but a little pricey compared to some of the wired mats. These can be used for both floor warming and whole house heating.

I can see the reluctance of both electricians and tilers not jumping on these since if a problem arises it usually means $$$$ in ripping out tile/flooring to track down the problem. The STEP mats are much more durable and are self-regulating so the tile surface stays nicely warm (around 85 degrees)and not HOT (which requires some kind of floor sensor).
