    Dad in hospital

My dad, who is 91, is in the hospital with congestive heart failure. It is inevitable that he will, in the near future, become on of "the dead men". He is the third generation of plumbing and heating guys in the family, I and my brother being the 4th, with none to follow. He is of the old school, where you took pride in what you did, did an honest days work for far too little pay, and passed on what he knew so other could learn. With your prayer support, maybe heaven can spare an old plumber down here for a little longer.
Thanks for all your support and prayers ahead of time. It's great to know there are so many believers out there in our industry.

You most certainly have my thoughts and prayers for your father. Whether some of the young fellas out there realize it or not, fathers are an indispensable source of both knowledge and common sense. Like most, it took me many years to realize that! My three boys, 24, 21 and 19 are finally beginning to listen to some of my words as we speak. I work out three times a week with some folks that are 90+ years old at Cardiac Rehab. They most certainly inspire me to keep on going.

    What Jim said

from me too. The best expression of appreciation for a Father I ever heard was from the song "Leader of the Band," by Dan Fogleberg. "The leader of the band is tired and his eyes are growing old. But his blood runs through my instrument and his song is in my Soul. My life has been a poor attempt, to imitate the man. I'm just a living legacy to the leader of the band." Nuff said. God Bless him Al. WW

    You never know Al

When my grandpa **** turned 80, I remember him saying "this will probably be the last car I buy". Turned out he bought 3 more after that. (Grandma always liked to be up to date). The Lord finally called him home at the age of 92. He worked a couple days a week in our hardware store til about 2 months before he died of lung cancer. Very peacefully I might add. The only medication he took during the last month was asprin for what little pain he had. He had used tobacco all of his life. I swear that he would smoke one half of those Odin cigars and eat the other half. Your dad will go when God calls him and not a minute before.

We'll pray for strength for him and all your family.

    dad

He made it through the night and is feeling a little stronger. His dad lived to 102 and he says he doesn't want to stick around that long.....his sense of humor is strong and he wants to go home, so.
Thanks to all of you for your support and prayers.
