at the latest collaborative effort of...........................
Triple Crown and Comfort Zone. Jimmy The Gent and I prefabbed the entire manifold including Buderus Mixing station in the Barn and installed on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Even with the very cold temps, we got them heat in the important zones the first night. We have alot of buttoning up to do, but this GB 142 is already up and condensing. Thanks to Mark and Darin for the insight. Mad Dog

Yo Dog !
Here's a sneak at my latest. (I gotta be cool cause even Milne ain't seen these yet!) Chris0 -
Looks Good!
Way to go, Chris.
I can't wait to get to use my new press tool. How long did it take to pipe that up?
Jeff

Thanks Jeff....
By myself...about 11/2 days total piping. Lots of time waiting for the weather to break for the "right time" for turnover. I got trapped in the basement for over an hour while the removal crew did their thing taking the old beast out. (1 door in and not too big BTW)
A day for the gas piping(again, WX related) and another for the carpenter to build the wall, and for me to paint it.
Well worth the time. The folks that are occupying the cottage where this was installed are amazed at the QUIET, and I've yet to hear from the owner. He'll be back next week, so I suspect I will be soon. Chris0 -
Chris,
NICE!!!!!
I like the remote mounting of that stupid header. I am definetly stealing that idea. It really cleans up the install.

I was waiting for Grunfos..............................
But the Hos were pushing, so they got French pumps. They do perform very well, though...better than the French Army. Mad Dog

Actually that was just Jimmy's ash tray.........................
We like to drink when the day/night is done, but not during performance hours. IT was around midnight when these pics were taken. I think we had a few cold ones (You can't beat a cold bud) around 2 am. Thanks for the kind words. Mad Dog

Very nice,
Matt, Jimmy, Triple Crown and Comfort Zone. Looks like collaboration works.

Chris-
You even painted the studs holding up the backer-board. "Nicer than it had to be"- a sign of excellent craftsmanship!
The neat part is, it reminds me of my father's voice on craftsmanship: "Anything you do is only as good as it's worst flaw."
Clearly you left nothing to chance, the plywood is a great backdrop for the best part of all, the piping and boiler. I bet you even primed the knots
Brad0 -
I hear those pumps are quieter
than their army... no accordian-like sounds.

What do I do for an encore???????????????
There is no where to go but down from here....nah...high quality is in my bones - can't do it any less. Thanks Man. I know its kinda sick, but I'm rarely ever 100% satisfied with my work. I always find something I could do a little better. Mad Dog

We
had the folks from Wilo stop in today. Maybe I wasn't listening but I thought they said they were made in Germany. Brad, I too have heard good things about these circs. Maybe we will just have to try one of those Bad Boys.0 -
Chippendale
Didn't I see that 19th century cabinet on the Antique Road Show :)Great solder job,I'm not sold on the press fit system I just can't justify the cost and none of my suppliers in Southern Ontario have even hinted about carrying the fittings.Maybe I'll look at them at the CMX show in Toronto next month.
Great Work

Geez!!!!!! Everyone wants to get in on the act, huh?............
C'mom dude...get your own thread goin'...this is my stage.
I have accomodated PEX and other 21st Century stuff, but will keep my trade protected as long as I can. Propress is the dumbing down of out trade. Will everyone be happy when we can literally...PLUG AND PLAY? Lets see : manufacturer
does heat loss and sizing for the HO, sends everything in box
plug it in to the wall, and then via fiber optic cable can set the boiler up over the computer. THis day will come, but I will stage a fighting withdrawal till the bloody end. I WILL KEEP CRAFTSMANSHIP ALIVE as long as I can! Didn't wanna snap on ya dude, but there is plenty o' space here to post your own work, which I happen to respect a great deal. Peace man. Mad Dog

Didn't mean for that.
Just a teaser. Hope you'll make the trip North with the upstate boys again in the spring. I'll make it up to ya. Chris
P.S. Time is money, and the PP is working FOR me. I know some will not accept it....But the soldering will ALWAYS be a part of my act. Been doing it too long to forget how. JCA0 -
SUPERB WORK !

Bud
I sure hope that Matt invoices the clients for all the Bud because it really makes for some incredibly nice looking joints!
That's a really nice job. It is interesting to see the diversity of jobs Matt gets. I still can't help but think about the bakery's boiler from last year.0 -
Nice!!
Bootiful work, Matt. Keep the Bar high!!

Relax Chris, you'll always be a friend
A little playful banter and teasing keeps things interesting. I never take anything coming from you in a bad way. Hey, someday you may see me use propress, but only if I'm forced to financially. Look, I'm the type of guy who hated ball valve and PVC when they first cam out....then, economics force your hand. Youre work is beautiful too, and I have seen your solder joints, so I though you can "burn". Mad Dog

So much heating power in so little space!0 -
That's great work...
... between the neat plumbing, the shutoffs, the careful mounting, and the sophisticated control system, I see the word "COMFORT" spelled out for homeowner and wallet alike. Congrats on a great install and happy collaboration!0 -
