QuikTrak with no insulation beneath?

I'm renovating a second floor bedroom. I'm thinking of adding radiant heat to the room. I have radiant in the bathrooms in this same house under tile floors. This bedroom will have a new hardwood floor. There is no insulation under this second floor room. I'm thinking of using QuikTrak. How big a problem is the lack of insultion?

QT
We did a whole house with QT 3 years ago and they have yet to insulate under the first floor. House heats fine, but it's quite warm in the basement...can't imagine why !!!!
It will work, but you will lose heat and may have to increase the temp to keep the floor warm, and with hardwood,in moist enviroment, that may not be a good thing. try to find a way to insulate.

depends
If you don't have Wirsbo's Design Pro heat loss program, you should find a pro who does and crunch the numbers. You can change the inputs to see what affect insulation, or the lack thereof, will have on system water temps. Why waste heat to a space where it's not needed? Your floor covering will have a huge impact on temps req'd to drive enough heat to the desired side.
If you're installing QT, then why not pull up the floor boards or plywood to insulate the joist bays so you can do it once and do it right?
