PEX IS THE WAVE OF THE FUTURE,ALOT OF STATES ARE USING IT. IN MASS IT GOT APPROVED MONTHS AGO.SOME PEOPLE ARE USING HERE BUT OTHERS JUST DONT WANT TO TRY.I AM EITHER WAY ON IT,I BELIEVE IT GETS BETTER FLOW BECAUSE OF LESS FITTING ETC.AND ITS GREAT FOR SETTING UP HOMERUN MANIFOLDS IN THE BASEMENT WITH INDIVIDUAL SHUTOFFS.EITHER WAY BOTH METHODS ARE FINE IN MY BOOK.

pex vs copper
I am a general contractor who has a new plumber that wants to use pex for domestic supply lines. I have always used copper and am looking for some input on the pex. Are there certain installations that are better than others?
Thanks,

Longevity
Copper lasts a long time. Pex doesn't have the same history as copper because it is a newer technology. Pex saves time and doesn't take up as much space. You don't burn your hands and you don't have to worry about fittings leaking in the future like you do with copper. Downfalls with pex are that it expands quite a bit. If you have hot water the tubing will expand and tends to make noise and sag if not secured properly.
Good Luck,
