Who makes the Smart Indirects?
And, how quiet is the Prestige?

Prestige
We finished this one today. It replaced a powerpile Bryant on a gravity system in a turn of the century rowhouse on Capitol Hill. The Prestige and Smart 50 tank took up the better part of the closet. Due to tight working conditions, this job took 2-1/2 days. Now I know how Ron, Jr. feels every day!. -DF

Very nice.
The homeowner will fill the closet with all the stuff he currently stores in his mini-van! Can you believe the value of these homes?
I inquired about the Prestige to a local distributor, and they said they would look into for me. I'm still waiting.

Great job
And I don't envy the space you had to work in . I'll never understand the need by architects or homeowners to crowd important stuff in a closet . Then they wonder why it takes more than one day to replace the 50 year old beast they walled in for more living space .
How do you like the Prestige ? Amazing job Dan an crew .0 -
Aireco
Mike,
Talk to Mark Rose at Aireco in Arlington. He has them in stock. See you Wednesday at Radfest? -DF

Thanks, Mark is a credit to the industry.
I called on him in my "former life". I am planning to be at the tradeshow.
We recently took out a TT "all-in-one" (at the homeowner's request) and installed a Munchkin with a Smart 40. With 80K of input, I should have ordered a 30 tank.

Curious, what is an old row house like that worth, on Capitol Hill????0 -
50% equity on
many of them would make you a millionaire.
Dan. Is that the shortest connection the Propress stuff allows on the tees for the LWCO & temp gage? Nice, TIGHT, job.

$$$
I have no idea what these are going fo but my guess would be close to $1M or even more due to location.
Ron, they make a press x thread tee that would shorten this up but we didn't have any that day so we used what we had. Not the prettiest, but it works. -DF

Venting
The Prestige looks very interesting. Can it be vented with stainless steel?
-Andrew0 -
Smart 50
The Smart 50 is made by Triangle Tube. I believe W-M also badges this tank under its brand. -DF

Venting
Andrew,
I am not sure about SS venting. The instructions only cover schedule 40 PVC vent pipe. -DF

Nice looking work as allways.
I have never heard of the Prestige. Who makes it and how does it work as far as turn down and such ?

Hope this helps...
.... The Prestige is the latest offering from Triangle-Tube, our friends of Phase III and Delta water heater fame. You can see a bit more about the Prestige at their website, along with a couple of (scant) technical details. The Installation manual, the Vent supplement, the Troubleshooting guide, and the user guide are probably a better place for you to start your research...
It appears to have a 3.5-1 modulation range with an input of 110-30kBTU/hr. Net losses, I guess that comes out to about 101-27kBTU/hr DOE output.0
