Dave Yates Hustles in Nashvile

Thanks gents. It was a real treat being in "Music City" for the week and meeting lots of the fine folks from The Service Roundtable as well as many others - almost all of whom are involved in a trade association.
The awards ceremony was very interesting & the work showcased quite stunning, but the one thing that really hit home - the top winners were almost all hybrid systems with more than half of the winners incorporating radiant. The hydronics buzzword was a strong undercurrent throughout the show.
However, only one radiant manufacturer had a booth & they were busy, busy, busy. Ya snooze, ya loose. Comfortech will be in Baltimore next year and the Comfortech Roadshow series will kick off in Feb. If'n I was a radiant manufacturer, I'd be getting my products in front of the emerging HVAC market. With a whopping 94% share of the heating market, the "air heads" represent a virtually untapped market that's waking up to hydronics - in a big way.
The excellent SRO GSHP seminars had two contractors for underscoring the viability of this technology & both of them are, according to them, incorporating hydronics - specifically radiant - into their projects.
The hydronic winds of change are blowing through the HVAC side(G).
The only person who fell asleep in class??? Mrs. Yates! She'd heard the presentation one too many times(G).
After many great evenings on lower Broadway in the honkeytonks with the live bands, cold brew and way-to-loud music, I'm going to go pull my sterio speakers into a small closet, invite over about 20 people to pack in, spill a few beers to get the floor sticky and crank up the volume until the plaster cracks!
Man, you dance one dance & the whole group never lets you live it down! Fred Astair with three left feet - that's me. The Wildhorse was - well - wild! The General Jackson dinner cruise was fantastic too. Comfortech sponsors did it up right and they will no doubt be rewarded, deservedly so, for their generosity.
We finished our personal tour last night at The Grand Old Opry & that too will live on in my memory as a very special night.
As you can easily see, I was working really hard to learn all I could during the trade show.

Yes it's true
Dave and his lovely bride were seen this evening doing the hustle at the Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville. Yes, they were dancing together.
Dave also did a fine job showing my "scorched air" guys how to add hydronics to their product offerings. Nice job Yatesy!
DANG! -- misspelled Nashvill in my subject line.0 -
ComfortTech
I got to hear Dave's program and he was first class! Obviously, the majority of the attendees in Nashville are air-based contractors, but Dave certainly planted some seeds for folks to consider, and not just radiant.
CD's are available of the entire conference or you can cherry-pick specifics programs. Contracting Business, PM Magazine, Contractor magazine, etc will probably all have ads to order the CD's.

Airheads
I have enough of the airheads. Dave's program was quite good.
Now I can get wethead stuff to soooth the soul.

Come on
Scott, she's holding the blondes other hand.
Right, Dave?
Hmmm, what is the symbol for wink, wink?0 -
The \"wink\"
is: ;-)
But those girls look a bit two-dimensional- sure they're not cardboard cutouts?0 -
more importantly....
Where's my other hand?;)
I was admiring the bike!

Afterwards
Both young ladies attended his seminar and sat in the front row. Right Dave?0 -
as the saying goes
What happens at Comfortech stays at Comfortech! Except for the knowledge gained from a host of great seminars and the networking contacts gained by those who chose to attend.
Best displays I've seen at an American trade show & they rivaled the eye-candy from ISH. The Romulan Ale was glowingly good.

Titan cheerleaders
Ask Dave about the Tennessee Titan cheerleaders at the Wild Horse saloon. That might have been a 3/4 roll of Tums there.0 -
Scott, just to help you understand
Those were just two of many knock-outs working in booths to help draw in the guys who attended.
And Scott they all had cold drinks waiting for us and friendly smiles. It was a great big hug-fest. It was enough to make even the most devout wet head jump ship for dryer shores.
Good grief John! I never even saw you lurking about - must be the mark of an excellent sleuth/reporter. hey Scott - You want I should post my picture of being sandwiched between Titan Cheerleaders during the Crazyhorse party? I'd better not, your hard drive might not be able to take the heat(G).
John, we need to take Milne to Tootsies on Broadway! The bands were good too.
