Attic A/C unit leaked....

My wife and I left town this weekend and had my sister in law watch the kids. I forgot to tell her the A/C should not be used b/c the water line was leaking. Guess what she used it and my textured/popcorn ceiling got stained before she realized there was a problem.
Needless to say I was bummed out but not without ideas. I emptied the finest misting spray bottle I had. Turned out it was a plastic mosquito repellent bottle. I rinsed throughly and filled with water and Bleach(Clorox). After several applications of misting the area wet(not too much)..........would you believe it actually worked and now the stains are GONE...But the light in my fan/light combo is now not working. Weird since the light stopped working about 4 days after the incident originally occurred. Oh well easier to replace the light than retexture the ceilings.
