Whole house energy consultant

a full time whole house consultant on staff. I wonder if it could be made profitable by advising and then recommending quality companies that would do the other work such as doors, blower test and insulation.

This full scale approach will become even more needed as the energy prices stay high and go higher.

Another approach may be to have one of these consultants work with you with your clients.

Just thinking and wondering about the makeup of our industry as we come to grips with higher heating costs and expense.

I resemble that remark . We went looking for blower door test help , people who could recomend what to do with the heating system and building envelope . I quickly realised that we couldn't farm it out . I had studied houses for 20 years and HVAC systems. How can I farm it out to people who don't know as much about HVAC ? So we bought a blower door , flow hood etc and have taken lots more training and are now begining to offer these services .

New Problem : Now people ask if we can do all the envelope repairs . I'd like to just farm it out but to who? Insulation companies here do not ahve a clue they just slap in fglass for builders. Icynene guys have all they can handle with new houses .

We are a small caring company not a large one . Just 11 employees total inside and outside staff.
