Too late in the year for a new boiler?

Are they busy doing other things? No this time of the year is boiler season....Everyone who is in the market is trying to have one installed before it gets cold..Busy year too with the price of fuel going up and up.Some may not have the extra scrach come spring. A lot more high end units selling too.
A lot of good men in your area. Understand a new system is a investment.Find a good man and boiler over a cheap price and you will beway ahead of the game..

New boiler for winter, hot water options
Well, I was going to try to do it last spring, but it just never happened....
Thinking about trying to replace my old steam boiler (oil converted to gas) with something more efficient.
I'm wondering the following:
-are heating professionals too busy to deal with me at this time of the year (too much other work)?
-any Boston contractors to recommend beyond 'Find a Professional'?
-my current boiler supplies hot water too (tankless), wondering if it makes sense to continue that or go with an indirect water heater (or even a standalone direct one?)
Thanks for any thoughts,

Thanks Big Ed - I have some calls in, I am just not sure how to evaluate a person to say they are good, hence my quest for recommendations.
Will reread Dan's book about steam heating for the homeowner to at least evaluate the folks who come by.
Cheers,
