I saw on thermoprides web site the cottage/moble home furnaces.I'm going to be installing this in a garage so the down flow wouldn't be an option.Anyone know the cost of the power ventors?

    do they make

A oil fired direct vent furnace?I have a customer who wants to put a furnace in his garage but doesn't want to go thru the expense of installing a chimney. Can I just vent the furnace thru the side wall and install power ventor?

yes you can use a power venter just make sure that you put it on the least Windy side of the house i use a power venter on my buderus boiler now.

and when i had a forced air i used one on that for 5 years with no problems. just make sure that at least twice a year you oil the bushings in the motor and it will last a very long time. also make sure you don't way over size the power venter.

also get a stainless steel one it will look much better and wont rust and look bad outside the house here is what i use it's the swg stainless

also make sure you check your town code some don't allow you to vent under a deck and make sure you have clearance from doors and windows

here is a picture of my house on the side you will see my buderus out door rest power venter it's a nice clean look

    good luck

You can install the furnace with a power venter providing the installation of both the power venter and furnace meet state and local codes. One thing to keep in mind is one of those codes are going to dictate the furnace burner be I believe 18” of the floor

    while a solution....

the up front cost may sound good, however, natural vent and dedicated outside combustion air would be the better way to cruise...

Tjerlund makes a seies of power venters....

    Tim,

The cottage option is a base that allows you to use the down flow in this application. Are you installing into existing duct work? Just curious, when I heat my recently purchased garage I was planning to use the TP.
