Buderus question for Joe?

Joe, I did what you said re: the 4 sect GB-215 w/reliability problems. You suggested going from a 1.25 80a to a 1.10 60w and up pump pressure to 165psi. I did this and ended up adjusting the air shutter from 4.5 to 3.5 and still had a 0 smoke and 12% co2. I just cleaned the unit a month ago and there's a +.04 draft over burner w/ a -.03in the stack. I removed one of the cast baffles and that got me down to a +.02 over burner. The inside looks clean, is this permissible or do I need to deal w/ the draft further? Thanks

    Burner set up

I assume the burner is a Riello. The numbers seem ok. Is there a barometric damper on the flue pipe to maintain the draft? Thanks,

Yes its an f-40 burner and there is a barometric damper in the flue pipe. So the +.02 over fire is ok for this unit? I'm assuming it's ok to remove one of the baffles to increase draft? Is it also acceptable to remove one or both of the baffles in a 115 to increase flue temp? This would be temporary until a proper liner can be installed. Thanks for your reply.

Last time I checked with the Buderus people, They wanted a Positive 8 over the fire....Not a neg 2. Which means slow that draft way down

    Draft

JP - The draft is listed at negative 03 at the breech. The specs do call for a negative 02 at the breech, but the numbers presented are acceptable.

Baffles should be pulled out in pairs on all models of Buderus boilers. Removing the baffles is acceptable.
