Start boiler via telephone?

Thanks guys for pointing me in the right direction. I placed a call to my own alarm company and they were very helpful. Why didn't I think of that??? duh!

    I have a snowmelt application where the client would like to have the ability to call his boiler from his office to start the snowmelt system. It was installed as a basic on/off system with a 12 hour timer, but now it is going to get a bit esoteric. Has anyone experienced this type of situation, and if so what was used as an interface?

    We have a gentleman in our area who install's this type of system. He set's them up so that you can either call in or use a computer. I have never installed one but most of my customer's love them. It allow's you to activate system's or turn the temp's up and down as you desire. It also monitor's your system and can be set to call you if there is a problem...Have him check with a local alarm company. If not I can check with our local guy and get more information for you..

    Sensaphone!

    We used the Sensaphone 1104 for a client's vacation home to remotely control the heat and a/c. It has a dry contact on the terminal strip, internal thermistor to tell you the existing temp at unit, and we put a remote probe outside so they'd know that temp as well when calling in. Available at Graybar for $280.00
