From the pages of .......
Peter Hotten, Boston Globe handyman.
Toothpaste, no gells, has to be a white paste, and a fingernail or toothbrush brush, gently....
Cream of tarter and lemon juice. Make it a paste and let it sit on the stain for a couple of minutes and then scrub.... again , gently.
Hope this helps. Chris0 -
Cream of Tartar and lemon juice ?
Add some Worchestershire sauce and I think you got an old bar room cure for the hiccups .0 -

You forgot to add in the bitters,Ron !0 -
rrrrrrrrrrub it out.
Try Bar Keepers Friend, and if that doesn't work get some powdered pumice.

Doilies won't do?
Isn't ZUD the Barkeeper's Friend brand of cleaning powder? It is special because it contains oxalic acid.
Acids will remove the stain, oxalic acid is said to do it best.
I have cleaned rust off of 50+ year old enameled cast iron with Barkeeper's Friend and straight oxalic acid (sold as rust remover at the grocery store). It took many repeat thick applications over several days.
So, good luck and success.
Did you know? There are can bottoms made of aluminum that make no stains. What will they think of next?0 -
Try Iron Out
It is an amazing product, it eats the stuff !!

gel gloss
I had a stain on my countertop from a potato peeler for a long time and tried everything. Gel Gloss fiberglass cleaner took it off in seconds. Let us know what works. Bob
