Electric Boiler?

I have a customer who is building a 1260 Square ft home with radiant heat. The net output of the required boiler is 45,000 BTU. The customer wants to have a total electric house. Any ideas on electric equipment?

Try Thermolec, looks good and has outdoor reset.
45000 seems a little high for 1200sq. foot home?
    Was heat loss done?

I have used Argo, Burnham and Thermolec.

The Thermolec is my favorite, so far. The outdoor reset is pretty cool, as long as it works ;-)

    check out the

ARGO AT. Have installed a couple. I love them. Simple, clean, and modulate the number of elements based on outlet temperature setting. rotating start element, adjustable differential.

I was told by the canadian trainer they were designed for mlti zone radiant applications.

    Very nice design.

    45K BTU?

Wow, what does he have for walls? all glass?

How many heating degree days? What's the design day low temperature?

If he really needs 45K BTU, he'll need some serious wiring and transformer to match.

Just saying this because I'm heating 1600 sq ft (not including basement/boiler room which also stay warm) in a house with a fair amount of glass and above average insulatiuon and sealing details in a 7K+ HDD climate with 10*F design day with a 30K BTU electric boiler that draws 9kw at full tilt.

I've used Argo, Burnham and Thermolec.

My favorite, to date, is the Thermolec. I like the outdoor reset on this boiler. That is, until it fails ;-)

    Heat pump

If the radiant part is a low number for a house this small and new a ground source heat pump should be looked at, really effecient for the all electric low temp systems. Could use the electric boiler for domestic or sec. stage.
