Would a bubble rise through out the lenght of both risers. If not you made a air trap...

  • 2 pipe monoflow?

I have just moved a cast iron radiator on a 2 pipe system. There were no monoflow tees on the system, so I just moved the existing tees to the new location. One tee is on the supply pipe, the other on the return pipe. After bleeding all of the radiators, the radiator I moved doesn't work. I don't have a lot of experience with radiators, but I don't see why this wouldn't work. Do I need monoflow tees and if so, why did it work before? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • No monoflow tees needed on a two-pipe system.

Did you repipe using the same size supply and return pipes?

Is this an old gravity system? (The mains near the boiler will be very large and frequently there will be a pair of mains.) If so, has it been converted to forced flow with a circulator?

  • This is a 1" circulator driven system, using 1"X 1/2" regular tees. I simply cut out the tees from where they were and cut them into the new location. Is there any way to check the radiator for flow? The customer says the radiator worked before the move but, it being summer, I failed to check. The 1/2" pipe at the rad valve is warm, but not hot. All other rads are hot. I'm going back Thurs. A.M. to run more diagnostics on it.
