Have you found the manufacturer's name? You should be able to find it, or something similar, in Dan's book "E.D.R." which you can get on the Books and More page of this site. If that's an old Trane "Heat Cabinet", you can find the ratings in the library.

Size of existing steam radiator
I have a recessed radiator that looks like a steel-finned basebaord unit, 8 in ht, 71/2 deep, and 50 inches long.
Could some help me with its effective radiation area?
