    Tank Guage

I am looking at a tank gauge that is screwed into the tank with the vent pipe screwed into that and at approx. 4' up a 90* into that and so on until it terminates outside. Question is to replace the faulty guage is there anything other taking the run apart to get the guage out or can I cut the first pipe and get a coupling with a left hand thread on one side?

    Thanks...........ROOKIE

    cut it

I cut the riser, rethread the pipe and put in a union...simple and quick.

Sounds easy and quick to me. I'm in MA and I don't see anything that says thats out of code on a vent pipe.
    Thanks.............ROOKIE

    I'm not in MA

But I would check to make sure the vent pipe is the correct size. Not sure what they require down there but since your changing it you want to make sure it is to code...

    Lchmb, vent is to code.
Paul, that was my first thought since there are two sitting there not being used but I didn't want one interfearing with the other. The fill is all the way to the left and the vent/guage next to it. My thought was that maybe the arm from the old one would catch on to the new one.

    Thanks
