Revision for the Taco 007 IFC ?

Restrictions should always be avoided on the suction side of a pump. Cavitation may result from restrictions on the suction side. It's basic fluid mechanics. A 007 in a pressurized system may not have issues, but why ask for problems? I'm happy to see they have moved the check valve.

  • After having an IFC

come through with a missing insert , we broke open a few boxes to see if any others were missing . We found 2 different body styles - one has the check on the discharge of the pump , one has it in the body . Is one of these a newer version of the IFC ? If memory serves , doesn't the 009 and 0011 have the insert in the discharge side ?

My Dad says there were some noise issues. Maybe they fixed them? They have been taking out the check valves because of this "noise". I have had NO problems with them, but I do not retrofit them where flow valves exist, and I think that may be where their problem may lie.

They buy 007s by the skid. A lot.
  • We just started

using the IFCs , maybe 100 or so installed so far . I haven't noticed any noise issues with the ones we installed - the circulator on the right in the pics . The circ on the left is the new version , I think ?

Al , has your dad had any heat bypass problems with the IFC ?

    I applaud Taco's change of heart :)

in moving the check to it's rightful place. At the discharge side! The notice claims input from the installers in the field lead to the change.

Nice to know manufactures are willing to listen and adjust, thanks!

    ifc location change

taco did recently change the location to the discharge side of the 007. And, yes, <hot Rod, it was absolutely do to the comments from the field installers. Those are the ones who know, far better than us.
Nice to see a plug from you, Hot Rod. Sort of rare.
We have had no noise complaints on the 007 ifc.

Taco changes IFC location on some pumps

    Hello
You are right some of the IFC models now have the integral flow check located in the discharge flange. For your reference I have included all the models that were changed, and notice a -1 in the nomenclature designating the IFC in the discharge flange. To clear the air the changes were done because of popular demand. Installers prefer the IFC valve on the discharge flange to allow for easier identification and simplified air purging using standard piping and purge valve configuration. To answer your second question, the 009, and the 0011 have the IFC in the volute, and not the discharge side. My perspective on the change of IFC location, shows that Taco is sensitive to their customers needs, and will try to accommodate in most cases, obviously this is one of them.
